Whitby is far enough east that we run it as a full-day route rather than a detour, which is why we ask clients here to book earlier in the autumn than we do closer to home. Once the route is full for a season we stop taking contracts, because adding properties would push the completion window out for everyone already on it.
Downtown Whitby and Brooklin are not the same job
The older streets near downtown have irregular heritage lots, mature trees and established beds that reward detail work. Brooklin, up at the north end, is newer, more open and higher — and it holds snow that has already gone from the waterfront. If you are in Brooklin, price your winter on Brooklin conditions, not on what a friend pays down by the lake.
What we recommend here
Combined year-round agreements make more sense in Whitby than almost anywhere else on our map. The travel distance is the expensive part of serving this area, and a property that we are already visiting weekly through summer costs us less to add to a winter route — so we price the combination well below the two contracts taken separately.
