North York has the oldest and largest tree canopy on our routes. Willowdale, Bayview Village, Don Mills and the streets around Edwards Gardens drop more leaf volume per property than anywhere else we service, and a single-pass fall cleanup simply does not work.
Fall is a three-visit job here
We schedule North York cleanups as three passes tracking the drop — usually mid-October, early November and a final clear before the ground freezes. Leaves left matted over turf through a wet December are the main cause of the snow mould people find in April, and clearing them properly in November is far cheaper than repairing turf in spring.
Infill and mutual driveways
Two practical things shape how we work here. Teardown-and-rebuild has left new houses sitting beside 1950s bungalows on mismatched grades, often with construction fill mixed through the topsoil — that soil needs amending before feeding it is worth anything. And the older pockets still have narrow mutual driveways shared between houses, which rules out full-size equipment. We run compact machines on those streets and clear them by arrangement with both sides.
